Inprotect's basic history

Inprotect Alpha 0.0.1 was born on 15 Nov 2002 by Alex Zimin and Greg Kuhnert (who is the only active founding father at the moment).

Inprotect continued to undergo development until Inprotect 0.21 was released on 25 Jan 2005, when it seemed to just kind of fade out of active development.

That is, until Greg and Mike Brenegan dusted it off, brought it out of retirement, and assembled a new team. shortly thereafter, we were proud to release Inprotect 0.22.5 on 21 Sep 2006. This was rather short lived, though, and shortly after that, development sputtered again.

Mike and Greg set off trying to assemble a more focused development team, and a little more than a year passed before we released Inprotect 0.80 Beta on 8 Nov 2007, as we actively push towards a stable 1.0 release.

Inprotect has underwent many format and personnel changes, but the one thing remains, that Inprotect is by far the best interface to Nessus and NMap that you will find.

We thank you for your continued support.

Development roadmap plan

Development on Inprotect has been slow and steady. (Thats marketing speak to try and cover up the fact that we all have real jobs, real lives and (yes) girlfriends and havnt had enough time to dedicate to Inprotect).

However, one of the team members has been beavering away on lots of improvements, and we are getting close to the point where we will be ready to start a decent testing cycle in preparation for a release of version 1.00

To help stay on track for a stable release, we will not be making any feature request enhancements to the current branch but we will fix bugs that are reported through the SourceForge Bug Tracker.
