What is merge_kkline branch?
merge_kkline branch is the current trunk with an optimized db schema I have been using and adding to for nearly two years.
I started on my own branch in Nov/Dec 2006 and have pretty much rewrote the primary backend script to handle all aspects of scanning. I currently have the system built to load nessus scans / compliance audits into a single table tracked by flag on report type. This will likely mean I can stuff NMAP into this table as well. the structure is highly efficient and very granular report can occur based on the break down of results tables and numerous stats tables used to track every aspect of a scan. Numerous stats and data is being collected and stored for efficient real time view that even products such as Tenable Security Center 3.4 do not have to date.
In the coming days weeks, I hope to provide adequate justification to make this the official branch of Inprotect in hope to give Security Center a run for it's money. As I currently work on this project nearly everyday, and/or run scans as well.
In my home test lab, I have the following distro running to test:
Mandriva 2008 Freebsd 7 Centos 5.2 Debian etch 4
Work Redhat EL4 Fedora Core 6
I have verified the installer as of 1.00_alpha_15 will cleanly install on each of the home distro's and should not be an issue work related as I have numerous hours testing and most fluent in those distro's
